As a work-at-home mom (or WAHM as I understand it is referred) of a just-turned 4 year old boy and sassy 1.5 year old girl, I often day dream about bedtime amid the cries over stealing toys and fights about whether we should watch Tom & Jerry or Blues Clues.
You know, that glorious time when the house finally gets quiet, except for the bleeping sounds of my husband watching Gold Rush on the Discovery Channel.

What will it be like? What will I get done? It will be magical if I can just survive the next few hours...
I could:
- Paint my nails. Pretty deep purple, a bright red, maybe a simple pink.
- Clean up my own room. It never gets done because I always run out of time and energy before I get to that end of the house. Plus, no one goes in there but my husband and I, but the dust bunnies are growing at warp speed, and there is a giant mountain of laundry to be put away.
- Work on my book. I've been writing a book for about a year and a half, and if I'd just devote about one more solid month to it, I'd be done. Then maybe I could be a famous writer and make a movie about it.
- Try my new curling iron. I suck at being a girl, and these things take practice.
- Blog. Yeah, right. Who has time for that?
- Read. I'm in the market for a new book/series.
- Watch something NOT on Disney Jr. Gold Rush is on if I'm interested. -_-
- Do something crafty. Maybe make another wreath for the front door or get a head start on an upcoming Holiday idea.
- Or just do a puzzle. I love puzzles.
Bedtime routine starts at 8:00, usually. But, inevitably, at 9:47 when my son has had another drink of water, some medicine for his cough, pee-peed for the second time, remembered he left something in the car that must be retrieved immediately, and had Jesus Loves Me sang one more time...all I want to do is sit in a hot bath and not speak, play Candy Crush 5 times and fall asleep as quickly and quietly as possible.
Being a mother, is wonderful and exhausting. I always chip my nail polish anyway.
